Abe
A downloadable game for Windows
You are a monkey. The jungle is yours.
Run. Leap. Swing vine to vine with real momentum — your speed carries through every arc, so a good line through the canopy is its own reward. Scramble up a trunk, throw yourself off the top of it, and hit the river to let the current take you wherever it's going.
There is no combat in this game. No health bar. No game over. Nothing in this jungle can hurt you.
It's a place to play.
A home worth having
There's a troop that misses you when you wander off. An elder who thinks you're finally ready. A rooster who insists the river belongs to him. A poacher whose traps have only ever caught himself.
And a very small someone in a cage.
Things to do
Race your little sister to the great tree. Try to keep up with a leopard. Climb high enough to see the whole canopy at once. Follow the river as far as it goes.
It goes farther than you think.

One ask
If you play it, tell me one thing in the comments: was it fun just to move?
That's the question this whole game lives or dies on, and ten minutes of your time answers it better than anything else could. If the momentum died somewhere, if a swing didn't catch, if the camera fought you — I want to know exactly where.
Known rough edges (it's an early build, and I'd rather tell you)
- A few placeholder animations — climbing borrows the run gait, and a couple of characters hold a pose.
- Foliage density is uneven. Some parts of the jungle are lusher than others.
- Audio is ambient-only for now. Music is coming.
- Fast camera whips can ghost slightly.
- The build is unsigned (solo dev, no certificate yet), so Windows SmartScreen may want reassurance on first launch — More info → Run anyway. If your antivirus quarantines it, run the executable in the
Binaries\Win64folder directly, or add an exception.
Everything above gets fixed. Most of it gets fixed fast — the last build's feedback shaped nearly every change in this one.
Built solo in Unreal Engine 5.8. Code written with an AI pair-programmer. Environment art and creature models are licensed asset packs. The world, the design, the characters, and the story are mine.
